Here’s your chance to find out more about the two teams competing in this year's Great Cricket Tea Challenge – from their names to their particular tea-making talents…

On the left we have Slaughter United CC (from left, Caroline, Jo, Jo & Penny)

Slaughter Utd are an all ladies cricket team from the Cotswolds. They’re a larger than life bunch who impressed us with their enthusiasm for cricket, their fun team dynamic and their efforts to use local produce. Team captain Jo is a real leader and organiser of the teas and we couldn’t wait to see how she¹d harness the varied skills of her other teammates on the day of the competition.

On the right we have Springhill CC (from left: Gary, Tal, Tony & Sundeep)

Springhill have what you might call a more ‘hierarchical team structure’. Tal is the kitchen goddess and the other guys, including her son, Sandeep, follow her every instruction! We were impressed with Springhill’s creative concoctions and their cooking confidence. We knew the Springhill teas were revered across the Midlands and wanted to put Tal and her merry men to the test on a national stage.
